A Euro 2016 qualifying match between Scotland and Ireland is set to take place on Friday, November 14th.

There have been some surprises in Group D so far, as perennial favourite, Germany, is currently sitting in a tie for third place with Scotland. Here are the current Group D standings as of this moment:

Poland, 7 points
Ireland, 7 points
Germany, 4 points
Scotland, 4 points
Georgia, 3 points
Gibraltar, 0 points

Poland threw a bit of a wrench into the works on October 11th when they managed to topple Germany 2-0 at home. Sure, Germany is still expected to finish at the top of the group when all is said and done, but things have been made a bit more interesting by Poland's result on October 11th. Germany followed this disappointing result with a 1-1 draw (at home, no less) against Ireland on October 14th and now have some work to do.

Ireland could really put themselves in a good position if they beat Scotland on Friday, while Scotland needs a victory to avoid falling too far behind the pack.
