49ers vs Falcons Line

The San Francisco 49ers will travel to Atlanta to square off against the Falcons in this year's NFC Championship game.

The 49ers earned their berth in the NFC Championship gain after defeating the Green Bay Packers 45-31 at home. Any question about Colin Kaepernick being able to perform in the "big game" evaporated after the rookie QB passed for 263 yards and ran for an unbelievable 181 yards. The 49ers gave the Packers' defense fits, combining for nearly 600 yards of offense.

The Atlanta Falcons, on the other hand, earned their berth in the conference finals by barely eking out a victory over the Seattle Seahawks. The Falcons appeared to be cruising to an easy victory over the Seahawks, only to have the wheels come completely off in the fourth quarter. Russell Wilson started lobbing touchdowns passes left and right, and the Seahawks actually took the lead before the Falcons salvaged their season with a late field goal. The Falcons ended up winning the game 30-28.

The Falcons finished as the top team in the NFC this season, which means that they will be hosting the 49ers this weekend.

The Falcons are 8-1-0 at home this season (including their win over the Seahawks), while the 49ers are 5-3-0 on the road.

Both Matt Ryan and Colin Kaepernick gained a tremendous amount of confidence when their teams won their past weekend. Despite being in the league for a number of years, this was Ryan's first ever playoff win, and it will be interesting to see what this does for his confidence going forward.

The big question for this game will be how the Atlanta Falcons deal with Colin Kaepernick and his mobility. If they can contain Kaepernick, the Falcons have a good chance of winning this game.
