Ronda Rousey Massive Favourite To Beat Bethe Correia

Ronda Rousey, arguably the UFC's biggest superstar, will be looking to defend her Women's Bantamweight title on August 1st, 2015 against Bethe Correia. The fight, as per Rousey's request, will be taking place in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

There is no love lost between Rousey and Correia. As a matter of fact, Rousey has said that she plans on "embarrassing" Correia in her home country of Brazil. Correia, for her part, believes that she is the woman to defeat Rousey.

Rousey has won her last three fights in the first round. As a matter of fact, the total time that Rousey has fought in her last three fights has come in at less than 2 minutes - cumulatively. Rousey's last fight against Cat Zingano was remarkably short, lasting just 14 seconds.

Rousey has promised that the fight against Correia will last longer, but only because Rousey is planning on inflicting some "serious" damage on her opponent.

Let's look at the odds for this fight:

Ronda Rousey, 1.06
Bethe Correia, 9.00

According to these odds, Rousey will win the fight 94.34% of the time, while Correia will only win 11.11% of the time. Having said that, I don't know anybody who would actually take Correia at 10/1 - if she won, it would probably be the biggest upset in the history of mixed martial arts.

Both Ronda Rousey and Bethe Correia have compiled perfect records over the course of their mixed martial arts careers.

Correia drew Rousey's ire after beating two of the champion's friends, Shayna Baszler and Jessamyn Duke. Rousey has taken those losses personally, which may translate into a very long night for Bethe Correia on August 1st.
