Djokovic 1/9 Favourite To Beat Wawrinka on Sunday

The world's #1 men's tennis player, Novak Djokovic, will look to add to his trophy case when he takes on Stan Wawrinka in the Men's French Open Finals on Sunday at Rolland-Garros.

Novak Djokovic just barely managed to squeak by Andy Murray in a five-set affair in the semi-finals. Will this tire out the world's #1 player in the finals? Does Wawrinka stand much of a chance?

Wawrinka had an easier path to the finals, as he defeated the #14 ranked Jo-Wilfried Tsonga to get to the finals, 6-3, 6-7, 7-6, 6-4.

As you can see from the odds below, Novak Djokovic is the clear favourite to win:

Novak Djokovic, 1/9
Stan Wawrinka, 11/2

According to these odds, Djokovic at 1/9 (1.11, -909) is a 90.09% favourite to win, while Wawrinka (11/2, 6.5, +550) has about a 15.38% chance of winning.

In short - nobody is really giving Wawrinka much of a chance to win. Djokovic, who has eight Grand Slam titles to his name, has never won the French Open (thanks, in large part, to Rafael Nadal) and he seems extra motivated to win for his first time at Rolland-Garros. Will Wawrinka be the man to stop him? According to the bookmakers, probably not.

Under 3.5 sets, 5/6
Over 3.5 sets, 5/6

According to these odds, the bookmakers are expecting that Novak Djokovic will make quick work of his opponent.

Wawrinka, however, has a history of surprising in big matches (see the Australian Open from a few years ago) and has nothing to lose. This should be an interesting contest.
