The world's top two men's tennis players, Novak Djokovic and Roger Federer, will square off yet again in the finals of the US Open on Sunday afternoon.

The lifetime battle between these two players has been exceedingly close, with Federer winning 21 of their 41 lifetime matches. Given the fact that either man is capable of winning on any given day, Federer/Djokovic is considered by many to be the greatest rivalry in the history of the game of tennis. Neither man has beaten the other more than four times in a row, and each man has beaten the other in all four of the Grand Slam events.

The first battle between Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic took place at the 2006 Monte-Carlo Masters, where Federer won in three sets in a preliminary round match. Over the years, as Djokovic rose the ranks of the tennis world, the battles between the two became more and more intense. Federer won the last battle between the two men (Cincinnati Masters), though Djokovic has won three of the last four. The last battle between two in a Grand Slam tournament came at the 2015 Wimbledon event, when Djokovic beat Federer in four sets.
