Major League Baseball Betting Odds and Winning Picks for August 23rd, 2011

Tonight’s baseball matchups offer some nice betting opportunities so here are some of the King's picks for tonight’s round of play.

Arizona Diamondbacks behind their ace Ian Kennedy should be a safe bet tonight against the Washington Nationals and their starter Jordan Zimmerman. The two teams are in a midst of the three game series with Washington having won the first one and despite being traditionally successful against Arizona at home, look for tonight to go Arizona's way. Ian Kennedy is a simmering 15 – 4 with a 3.22 ERA and should record his 16 win tonight with bookies giving a nice 1,95 quote on the D-Backs.

Philadelphia Phillies should also be a safe bet tonight with Worley, who has an 8–1 record and 2,76 ERA, taking the mound tonight for them. He will be facing a rather cold Mets team which has lost four straight and the streak will most likely continue tonight as well. Just to throw in another game in the mix, look for Yankees to beat the A's tonight behind Bartolo Colon who has not won since July 30th. Although he will be facing a solid Brandon McCarthy who has won four of his last five starts, Yankees just seem to have more offensive weapons to be able to handle the A's.
