Can "The Dragon" Fight His Way Into Another Title Shot?

The co-main event of this weekend's UFC 163: Aldo vs Korean Zombie card will pit Lyoto Machida against Phil Davis in a Light Heavyweight battle.

A win for the favoured Lyoto Machida would almost certainly give him the #1 contender spot in the Light Heavyweight division, so this fight will take on an extra degree of importance for "The Dragon". Phil Davis, on the other hand, hopes to continue to work his way back up the Light Heavyweight ladder with a big win over Machida.

Let's take a look at the odds for this much anticipated fight:

Lyoto Machida, -350
Phil Davis, +300

So, according to these odds, you would need to wager $350 on Machida in order to have a chance of winning $100 back. A successful $100 wager on Davis, however, would produce a total profit of $305 if he were able to pull off the win.

This fight should be pretty straightforward in terms of how the two fighters will approach it.

Machida will be looking to fight from the outside, using his quickness and speed to counter Davis and frustrate the slower fighter.

Davis, on the other hand, will be looking to slow down the fight by taking Machida to the ground and pounding him out.

Machida is notoriously hard to take down, so Davis may be in for a long night if he decides to go that route.
