Lyoto Machida Clear Favourite To Beat Dollaway on Saturday Night

In the main event of the latest edition of UFC Fight Night on Saturday night, former Light Heavyweight champion Lyoto Machida will do battle against CB Dollaway.

Most people know how this fight is going to go. Dollaway will attempt to take Machida to the ground using his wrestling but Machida will successfully keep his distance, counter-striking at every opportunity. Eventually, Dollaway will get frustrated and make an ill-timed move and Machida will flatten him. If you want to know how the Machida/Dollaway fight is going to go, people say, just watch Machida vs Ryan Bader.

The oddsmakers clearly believe that Machida is going to dominate on Saturday as evidenced by the current odds for the fight. Here they are:

Lyoto Machida, -700
CB Dollaway, +450

So, according to these odds, a successful $700 wager on Machida would yield a profit of just $100, while a successful $100 bet on Dollaway would return a total of $450.

Sure, Dollaway has won his last two fights in a row, but Lyoto Machida (especially Lyoto Machida at Middleweight) is a HUGE step up for CB. Dollaway has never faced a fighter with the striking that Machida possesses and it's hard to imagine Dollaway being able to contain and control the elusive Brazilian.

This fight will likely go just the way that the bookmakers are predicting as Dollaway doesn't really have any clear paths to victory.
