Odds For Columbia Have Slightly Improved

he 2014 World Cup, which will be taking place in Brazil, is just a few months away.

As of this moment, the host nation is the current favourite to win at 3/1. This is certainly not a surprise - not only does Brazil have arguably the best football club in the world, but they will also be playing in front of their home fans.

The odds for the teams most expected to win haven't changed over the past four months - here they are:

Brazil, 3/1
Argentina, 9/2
Germany, 11/2
Spain, 7/1
Belgium, 14/1

-

A total of six teams HAVE seen their odds change since the beginning of January.

Here are the teams, the original odds and the current odds:

Columbia, 20/1, 22/1
Italy, 25/1, 28/1
Chile, 40/1, 50/1
Japan, 125/1, 200/1
Ivory Coast, 150/1, 200/1
South Korea, 250/1, 500/1

Odds change for two reason:

1) There has been some sort of an "event" (major injury, retirement, etc)
2) The odds have moved due to wagers being placed

Bookmakers need to move the odds to accommodate large wagers, so it is likely that money came in on teams such as Columbia and Italy.

What do you think - is the betting action on teams like Columbia, Italy and Chile warranted?
