Event – Philadelphia Flyers at Florida Panthers

Time & Date – 7:30 pm, Wednesday, March 3rd, 2010

Venue – BankAtlantic Center, Sunrise, Florida

Philadelphia heads to Florida for the fourth and final regular season game between the two teams, and hopes to end the series tied. The Flyers brought home a disappointing 4-2 loss on October 16th, but quickly made up for the poor start with a 5-1 victory at home eight days later. More than two months would go by before the next face-off, a December 21st battle in Philly with a 4-1 result giving the Panthers their current one-game lead. Last season Philadelphia and Florida won two games each, one at home and one away. We’ll soon find out if this season proves to be a repeat, and if these two teams remain on par.

Founded in 1967 as a part of the NHL and based out of Philadelphia as the Flyers from the start, the visiting team won its 15th division title in 2004, its 7th conference title in 1997, and its 2nd league title in 1975. The Philadelphia Flyers have made it to the playoffs 33 times, most recently last year when six games against the Pittsburgh Penguins ended their postseason in the conference quarterfinals.

Founded in 1993 as a part of the NHL and based out of Florida as the Panthers from the start, the home team is working hard for its first division title, won its 1st conference title in 1996, and dreams about topping the league. The Florida Panthers have made it to the playoffs 3 times, most recently in 2000 when four games against the New Jersey Devils ended their postseason in the conference quarterfinals.
