UEFA Europa League Football Matches for the Evening of September 29th

Tonight is the return to the largest European competition, the UEFA Europa League, with 24 matches scheduled to take place. We preview a few of them for your betting picks of the day.

Maribor vs. Birmingham City

The Slovenian side Maribor host English Championship side Birmingham City in a match where the bookies are favoring Maribor to win at 2.25 while giving Birmingham City a 3.20 odd for an away victory tonight.

Not underestimating the Slovenian soccer, Birmingham should go ahead and win this game despite losing their last three, including a 3-1 defeat to Portuguese side Sporting Braga in the first round of the group stage of the UEFA Europa league.

Maribor lost the opener to Club Brugge in the first round by 2-0 in a fairly competitive match. They have also gone winless in their last four matches.

Birmingham City at 3.20, we feel, is a steal tonight with the bookies and should win tonight in Slovenia.

Odense vs. Fulham

Another English side in action and another enticing odd to bet, in a very likely away win as Fulham travel to Danish side Odense.

The difference in quality of these two teams is evident and clearly the Fulham should get out of this match with all three points. Odense started strong in the Europa League, defeating Wisla Krakow in the opener away by 3-1. Since however they have had a terrible run, losing three in a row and falling to 7th in their national championship.

Fulham have played to a draw with very strong Twente side in the opener and has been winless in the last five games which were all draws. Tonight they will come out looking for a much needed win without their leading scorer Zamora and the other attacker Dembele. Johnson and Ruiz are expected to replace them, with both still looking for their first goals of the season. Atheltico Bilbao vs. PSG

Another nice odd to look at with an away team today is on PSG, a team built for success this year. PSG won their last two, have been undefeated in their last five and are in a tie for a first place in France.

Athletic Bilbao on the other hand is in 19th in Spain, have only managed one win this year, which came in the opener of the Europa League at Slovan Bratislava, and will be looking to avoid losing their fourth match in the last six as they host PSG.

PSG striker Gameiro has been hot, scoring 5 already, while the Brazilian midfielder Nene has been instrumental player in the PSG’s run so far this year.

This is another steal for tonight at 2.90 odd which should solidify PSG’s position as a leader in group F of the Europa League.
