Some teams are practically unbeatable at home due to a multitude of different reasons (think the New England Patriots in the NFL), ranging from the loudness of their fans to the weather.

If two teams are equal, the team who has the home field advantage will have the edge to win.

For instance, let's say that Man City is squaring off against Chelsea in EPL action. If Man City is playing in front of their home fans, chances are that they will be the favourites to win. If Chelsea is playing in front of their home fans, chances are that they will be the favourites to win.

The home field advantage can't be understated - even the weakest clubs could get that extra boost from their rabid fans to make a game competitive. On the other hand, if a weak team is on the road, they likely have little to no shot of winning.

Always keep home field advantage in mind when you are wagering on a contest.
