Can Chelsea Turn Around Their Disastrous Season?

Chelsea, which is currently in the midst of an absolutely disastrous campaign, will be looking to start to salvage at least some of their season later this week when they play host to Bournemouth.

Chelsea, which was considered one of the favourites to win the English Premier League before the start of the season, currently sits in 14th place with a record of 4-3-7. Amazingly enough, after 14 games, Chelsea is only 5 points away from the relegation zone.

Bournemouth, on the other hand, is currently sitting in 18th place with a record of 2-4-8. Saturday's game against Chelsea is important to Bournemouth for a number of reasons - to start, a win would likely bring them above the relegation line. In addition, a victory over Chelsea would give the team a feather in their cap.

Having said all of that, Chelsea is still the clear favourite to win on Saturday, though punters will likely find it extremely hard to back Chelsea will any degree of certainty.

Here are the odds for Saturday's tilt between Chelsea and Bournemouth:

Chelsea, 1.36
Draw, 4.50
Bournemouth, 9.00

According to these odds, Chelsea is the clear favourite to win at home, as a successful $100 wager would yield a total profit of $36. A successful $100 wager on Bournemouth, on the other hand, would return a total profit of $800.

Despite being riddled with talent, Chelsea has had a difficult time finding the net so far this season.

For Saturday's game, seven of Chelsea's players have 3.00 odds or better of scoring. They are:

Diego Costa
Eden Hazard
Radamel Falcao
Loic Remy
Pedro
Oscar
Willian

If Chelsea has any hope of somewhat salvaging this season, they will need at least a few of these names to start outperforming.

This game doesn't mean much in terms of the top end of the English Premier League, though it is quite a crucial clash for both clubs.
