Chelsea Has Edge To Win on Sunday Against Southampton

Chelsea will look to keep pace at the top of the English Premier League table when they square off against Southampton on Sunday afternoon.

Chelsea, which will be playing on the road on Sunday, will need a win to keep up with the likes of Man City, Arsenal and Liverpool, who all managed to notch wins on Saturday.

Chelsea has managed to right their ship this season after a disastrous campaign last year. The club, which is one of the richest in the world, had to start from scratch after finishing in the middle of the EPL table and missing out on both Champions League and Europa League. 2015/16 was truly a disaster for Chelsea, and they are looking to have a strong rebound year in order to calm their fan base down.

So far, so good for Chelsea in 2016, as they have managed to compile a strong record of 6-1-2, which left them one point back of the table leaders heading into this weekend. If you asked Chelsea fans prior to the season, they surely would have taken this result at this time of the season, though their fans clearly believe that Sunday presents a winnable game for their club.

The bookmakers agree, as they have given Chelsea the slight edge to win. Here are the odds for tomorrow's match:

Chelsea, 11/8
Southampton, 9/4
Draw, 12/5

Chelsea has managed to compile a total of 1.75 points per game while on the road this season, while Southampton has managed to add a total of 2 points per game while at home.

Southampton is a middling team at home, as they have managed 8 points over the total of 4 home games, while Chelsea has one of the league's better records on the road.

Chelsea is 3-0-0 over its last three EPL matches, with wins over Manchester United, Leicester City and Hull City. Chelsea has scored nine goals over the course of that three game run while allowing none.

Southampton, on the other hand, is 1-2-0 over its last three games, with a win over Burnley and draws against Manchester City and Leicester City.
