Rory MacDonald vs Carlos Condit Odds

On March 16th, 2013, Rory MacDonald will be taking on Carlos Condit in the co-main event of UFC 158: Diaz vs St. Pierre.

UFC 158 has basically been made into a Welterweight tournament by the UFC. In addition to St. Pierre vs Diaz (for the Welterweight title) and MacDonald vs Condit fights, Johny Hendricks will also be taking on Jake Ellenberger.

The Welterweight title picture could play out any number of ways based on what happens at UFC 158.

If all of the favorites win (St. Pierre, MacDonald and Hendricks), then St. Pierre will likely next be defending his title against Johny Hendricks. Rory MacDonald has said that he has no desire to fight Georges St. Pierre (they are training partners and friends), so he may jump to Middleweight instead of taking on GSP.

If GSP and Condit win and Hendricks loses, you may see a Georges St. Pierre vs Condit rematch. Given how exciting their last fight was, I doubt you would hear too many people complaining about a GSP/Condit rematch.

As mentioned, Rory MacDonald is the favorite over Carlos Condit. Here are the current betting odds for the fight:

Rory MacDonald, -210
Carlos Condit, +170

These odds mean that a $210 bet on MacDonald would yield a profit of $100, while a $100 bet on Condit would yield a profit of $170.

Rory MacDonald and Carlos Condit have some history together, as they first squared off against each other at UFC 115: Liddell vs Franklin. MacDonald and Condit engaged in a fantastic fight, with MacDonald winning the first two rounds before fading in the third, allowing Condit to win via TKO.

MacDonald has said that the loss was "humiliating" and he has vowed revenge.
