It certainly didn't go as Atletico Madrid planned on Tuesday as the home side and Chelsea played to a 0-0 draw.

Atletico Madrid had been the favourite to win on Tuesday - heading into the first leg, Atletico Madrid was 1.85 to win at home while Chelsea was 6.00.

Chelsea played hard and managed to escape Atletico Madrid with the 0-0 draw. Things now move to Chelsea for the second leg next week.

Prior to today's game, Atletico Madrid was the slight favourite to qualify for the Champions League finals:

Atletico Madrid, 1.80
Chelsea, 2.00

Tuesday's outcome didn't change much as you can see from the revised odds:

Atletico Madrid, 1.83
Chelsea, 1.91

The odds very narrowly moved in Chelsea's direction though things are essentially a toss-up heading into next week's game, despite the fact that Chelsea will have the home advantage.

--

Here are the odds for Wednesday's game in Chelsea:

Chelsea, 2.30
Draw, 3.25
Atletico Madrid, 2.90

As you can see, Wednesday should be just as close as today's match was. Chelsea has the slight advantage in that they will be playing in front of their home fans, but the oddsmakers still believe that anything can happen.

There are a number of players who will miss next week's game due to injuries or bookings - they are:

Petr Cech
John Terry
Frank Lampard
John Obi Mikel
Gabi

It was a battle of attrition on Tuesday, and next Wednesday should prove to be exactly the same. Who will come out on top?
