Argentina Has Slight Edge To Beat Belgium

Argentina and Belgium will be squaring off in World Cup Quarter Final action on Saturday, July 5th. The winner will move on to face the winner of Holland/Costa Rica in the semi finals, while the loser will go home.

Argentina and Belgium is quite an intriguing match. Argentina has not lost yet in this tournament though they have still managed to underperform expectations. After all, Argentina currently has the second best odds of winning the tournament, though they were barely able to best the likes of Nigeria and Iran.

Belgium, on the other hand, entered the tournament as one of the "dark horses". Despite the issues with their offense, Belgium has not lost a game yet in the tournament and managed to turn in a completely dominant performance against the United States in the Round of 16. If not for superlative goaltending, the United States may have lost by 4-5 goals.

In short, Belgium seems to have found their game while Argentina is still waiting to put together a complete performance. Argentina's success has resolved almost exclusively around Lionel Messi, while Belgium has relied on more of a team effort to win their games.
