NFL 2011/2012 - Monday Night Football
 |

Are you ready for some Monday night football?
New England Patriots at Miami Dolphins
The AFC East is probably one the strongest division in NFL this year, again! So, this match-up of two old foes is going to be an all out battle, especially since the last year’s demolition of Dolphins by the Pats in Miami by the score of 38-7. Patriots have added some high profile veterans to their roster including Ochocinco and Haynesworth, while Miami has had a team in the making for while now with experienced players covering most key positions. Jason Taylor, the defensive leader of the Dolphins team will look to make a point tonight against the Pats by opening a season with a strong defensive performance. On the offensive side, the Dolphins are not as impressive as the Patriots, but they have added Reggie Bush from the Saints and he is a play maker that the Dolphins have missed over the past few years. Chad Henne is still at QB position and should he perform well tonight against the AFC East rival, he might just secure that spot for the rest of the season. So a lot at stake here tonight, despite this being a first game of the season for these two teams. Pats are overwhelmingly favorite to win, but 1,30 spread is just too low to play in this long standing rivalry. Judging by the first week of play so far, offenses seem to have the upper hand on the defenses, but these two teams are strong defensively so playing points Under 45,5 will probably do the trick here. Patriots should also beat the spread set at 7.
King’s picks: Points Under 45,5; Spread – New England -7
Oakland Raiders at Denver Broncos
In a second Monday Night Football match-up we have the battle of the two AFC West teams. Denver Broncos were awful on defense last year while the Raiders had a solid season going 6-0 in AFC West, just missing out on the playoffs. This one is somewhat hard to predict, but somehow Broncos seem to have had a calmer off-season, have resolved some offensive issues making Kyle Orton their QB. Raiders on the other side have had a turbulent summer, having fired their coach and then having drafted Pryor who is not eligible to play yet. The preseason record of 0-4 shows that they have not yet put all the pieces together for the 2011/12 season. Another important piece of information is that the Radiers have won three straight in Denver. Can that hold up? Probably not, so look for Broncos to win, but more than anything look for a game with plenty of scoring and play the points Over. They are set at 41.
King’s pick: Points Over 41
